NoWait app is on deck for Masters Week

During Masters Week, expect bumper to bumper traffic and long lines at restaurants.

[NoWait CEO Ware] Sykes says visiting restaurants during Masters Week this year could go a lot faster.

"Restaurants will download the application. Consumers can log into the website and see where their place in line is," he said.

An Edmonton restaurant is using an app to change customers' dining experiences.

Original Joe's in Terwillegar is using the app, NoWait, to help better manage lineups and crowds. Customers waiting for a table can leave the building and be alerted when a table is ready for them, through a text message sent by the app.

NoWait, a mobile waitlisting management service based in Pittsburgh, is announcing today it has closed on a $2 million Series A round of funding led by Birchmere Ventures.

The idea to digitize waitlisting is not a new one, and it's becoming an increasingly crowded market. But in NoWait's case, it's a combination of old school mobile support (SMS text messaging) and modern flair.
